REJECTION AND MARKETING

During the month of June, sexual diversity and gender identity are celebrated worldwide, as well as the struggle for the rights of people belonging to this community. The repudiation towards this community of people has been seen in different parts of the world; likewise some companies have made their public support to this community only to increase their sales level.


The repudiation that still generates the acceptance of the gay community is evident in several countries of the old world, such is the case of Hungary. During a match of the third day of the group stage, the sporting confrontation took place between Germany and Hungary. Prior to the match, the mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, asked the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to illuminate the Allianz Arena stadium with the colors of the rainbow flag, but the European confederation rejected the request.


UEFA's statutes specify the following: "UEFA is a politically and religiously neutral organization". This is due to a series of communiqués from the Hungarian government, in which it makes it clear that the country is against any action related to homosexuality.


Just as there is repudiation in different parts of the world, there are companies that take the pride month as a good form of marketing, using in their logo the colors of the rainbow flag, this in order to increase the sale of their products and services in a good way. However, many of these companies have been involved in situations that make it clear that they do not sympathize in any way with this movement.


The fight for the rights of the LGBT community has had many occasions of stumbling, but that does not mean that the denunciation and the fight does not continue despite each of the obstacles.
